INVESTING IN YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
Starting therapy is a big commitment—emotionally and financially.
Therapy is an investment in your well-being, just like your education, career, or physical health.
It’s not just about solving problems—it’s about creating long-term growth, breaking unhealthy patterns, and building a life that aligns with who you truly are.
When you invest in therapy, you’re choosing:
Better relationships
Clearer boundaries
More mental clarity and emotional balance
A deeper connection to yourself
It’s one of the most powerful acts of self-care you can do.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Starting Therapy at Gluck Psychology Collective
-
The first therapy session is less about “performing” and more about getting a feel for the relationship. You’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what’s been feeling difficult lately, and what you’re hoping therapy might help with. Your therapist will guide the session by asking you various questions about your history. There’s no pressure to share everything immediately.
-
Therapy is not only for crisis situations. Many people start therapy because they feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, anxious, burned out, disconnected, or caught in repeating patterns in relationships, work, or self-worth. If something feels off internally, therapy can help you understand why.
-
At Gluck Psychology Collective, our work is rooted in relational, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and trauma-informed therapy. We also integrate practical tools from CBT, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, EMDR, and parts work depending on your needs and goals.
-
Not at all! Many clients begin therapy saying things like:
“I don’t even know where to start.”
“I just know I haven’t been feeling like myself.”
“Everything feels overwhelming lately.”
Part of therapy is figuring out what’s underneath the stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship struggles, or emotional patterns you’ve been experiencing.
-
Most clients start with weekly therapy because consistency helps build momentum, trust, and emotional insight. Over time, session frequency can shift depending on your goals, schedule, and needs.
-
No. While understanding your past can absolutely help explain current patterns, therapy at GPC is not about endlessly analyzing your childhood without direction. Sessions often balance insight, emotional processing, self-awareness, coping tools, boundaries, relationship dynamics, and practical day-to-day support.
-
A previous therapy experience not working does not mean therapy itself cannot help you. Often the issue is fit, timing, approach, or readiness. Finding a therapist you genuinely connect with matters enormously.
Schedule a free consult with us to get matched with your perfect fit.
-
We help match clients based on personality, therapy goals, scheduling needs, budget, and what type of support feels most helpful. During your consultation, we’ll talk through what you’re looking for and help guide you toward the best fit.
-
We offer both virtual therapy across New York and in-person therapy in Flatiron.
Some clients prefer the flexibility of online therapy, while others feel more grounded having a dedicated therapy space outside of home.
Many of our clients choose a hybrid approach and get the best of both worlds!
-
Several clinicians at Gluck Psychology Collective are in-network with Aetna. We also offer out-of-network support and reduced-fee therapy options through our advanced clinical fellows.
-
We commonly work with:
anxiety and overthinking
burnout and stress
dating and relationship struggles
perfectionism
self-worth and confidence
family dynamics
trauma
attachment patterns
life transitions
identity development
emotional overwhelm
-
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Some people come in for support around a specific challenge, while others use therapy as ongoing space for deeper growth, relational work, and self-understanding. The process looks different for everyone.
-
No. In fact, many people benefit most from therapy before they hit a breaking point. Therapy can help you better understand yourself, improve relationships, regulate stress, build self-trust, and navigate life more intentionally before things become unmanageable.
-
That’s incredibly normal. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, awkward, intimidating, or emotionally exposing at first. You do not need to show up perfectly or know exactly what to say. The goal is not perfection. The goal is creating a space where you can slowly feel more honest, understood, and supported.
-
Therapy at Gluck Psychology Collective is designed to feel like you’re sitting down with a thoughtful “big sister” who has an advanced degree and isn’t afraid to challenge you!
We are not a “blank slate” kind of practice where you sit in silence wondering what you’re supposed to say next. Our therapists are engaged, thoughtful, relational, and genuinely invested in helping you understand yourself more deeply.
Sessions often blend insight and practical support. Some days look like unpacking relationship patterns, anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or family dynamics. Other days might focus on grounding tools, boundaries, emotional regulation, self-worth, dating struggles, or simply having a space where you do not have to hold everything together alone.
We work with many Gen Z and Millennial adults who are high-functioning on the outside but internally overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in patterns, or disconnected from themselves.
Our goal is not to “fix” you. It is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more emotionally aware, more grounded in your relationships, and more capable of navigating life in a way that actually feels sustainable.
Clients often tell us therapy here feels:
validating without feeling surface-level
insightful without feeling overly clinical
supportive without feeling performative
structured enough to feel helpful, but flexible enough to feel real
At the core of our work is the belief that therapy should feel like a relationship where you can exhale, slow down, and finally stop carrying everything by yourself.
